How to become an EBRA member
EBRA is an international not-for-profit organisation registered under Belgian law and funded by the membership fees.
There are 3 types of membership: full membership, associate membership, and membership for companies involved in refurbishing, repurposing, and reusing (this type of membership is currently being developed).
Full membership
To become a full member of EBRA, the following conditions need to be met:
You have activities in the field of sorting or recycling batteries on the continent of Europe;
You are a first line sorting or recycling plant (your input is made of batteries) and you fully comply with the requirements of the Battery Regulation, including the Recycling Efficiency (RE);
You subscribe to the EBRA charter (available on request ).
Associate membership
Associate membership is for companies not meeting the conditions for full membership but that can contribute to the activities of EBRA.
For example:
Recyclers of fractions coming from the first recycling step
Companies not having sorting or recycling activities in Europe
Companies involved with dismantling batteries or repurposing them
Start-up companies or companies starting to work in the field of sorting or recycling batteries
Current Membership fee
Full member: € 7500 / year
Associate member (50%): € 3750 / year
The membership fee is invoiced at the beginning of each calendar year. For new members, the fee is calculated pro rata temporis for the first year.
Procedure to become EBRA member
New applications are processed by the secretariat of EBRA and proposed to a vote at the level of the EBRA General Assembly.
